After Indio escapes prison he and the gang meet up at an abandoned church. The building used for this scene was actually a real Catholic church called Santa María de Turrillas in Turillas, Spain. Leone paid the parish generously to use the facility. He paid them enough they were able to completely rebuild the interior of the building. He’s been referred to as Saint Sergio ever since.
