[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]
Josip Biščan was born in Croatia, Yugoslavia most likely sometime in the 1940s. He was one of the Coratian stuntmen and riders hired for the Karl May movies filmed in Croatia. He had a petite boyish physique and blond hair and starred in at least four May films, but he is rarely seen on screen. A close-up of his character can only be seen in the film “Winnetou and Old Firehand”.
One of the Karl May websites states that he has died but does not give a place of date.
Although it is mentioned he appeared in four Karl May films, I can only find reference to two Eurowesterns that Josip appeared in: “Unter Geiern” (Frontier Hellcat) where he plays a bandit and “Winnetou und sein Freund Old Firehand” where he appears as a desperado and performs stunts.
BISCAN, Josip (Josip Biščan) [194?
Croatia, Yugoslavia – deceased] – stuntman, film actor.
Frontier Hellcat – 1964 (bandit)
Thunder at the Border – 1966 (desperado) [also stunts]
