Ángel del Pozo Merino was born in Madrid, Spain on July 14, 1934. He combined his university studies with amateur performances at T.E.U. until he finally decided to pursue a career in acting. He joined the Lilí Murati Company, and successfully participated in the comedy “Un bruto para Patricia”.
He made his film debut in 1960 with the adaptation of the aforementioned play. After playing heartthrobs in titles such as “Margarita se llama mi amor” (1961), “Vuelve San Valentín” (1962) and “Escala en hi-fi” (1963), he specialized in Spaghetti westerns, appearing in more than thirty titles in the 1960s and 1970s.
In the seventies he made his directorial debut, shooting four films. At the end of the decade, he decided to retire from show business. From the 1990s to 2008, he worked as an executive producer and public relations officer at Gestevisión Telecinco (now Mediaset España), which manages the television networks Telecinco and Cuatro.
Ángel appeared in more than seventy films since 1960.
The journalist Almudena del Pozo is Ángel’s daughter.
In April 2020 he survived Covid-2019. On October 11, 2020 he received Tabernas de Cine Award on Almería Western Film Festival in Mini Hollywood and Fort Bravo.
