[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]
When Sergio Leone was filming 1966’s “Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo” (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) he posted wanted posters in local businesses and newspapers asking for musicians to play roles in the Betterville Prison Camp band. One of the respondents was a local guitar player named José Alberto Gutierrez Bengoechea.
The only information I could find on him was from a notice of his passing. He was born in Spain in 1949 and died in Logrono, La Rioja, Spain on June 26, 2021, at the age of 72. “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” was his only Spaghetti western and most likely his only film appearance.
