serie di Ted
The Ted series was published in 1948 and consisted of 79
weekly issues until 1951. It was published by the Publishing House A.V.E. in
Rome, Italy with oversight by managing director Carlo Carretto. It consisted of
16 black and white pages with color covers.
It covered the adventures of an explorer named Ted who
sometimes ventured into the Old West.
It initially came as a supplement to IL VITTORIOSO. The
#1 is supplement to the #10 of 1948. From #46 (February 5, 1950) the dates
appear on the cover, the word ALBO VITT and the double numbering, the
progressive number of SERIE DI TED and that of ALBO VITT. Pubblica reprints of
stories already appeared on IL VITTORIOSO and other unpublished ones:
L'INFABILE BART (IB), TIM IL CAPITANO (TC), HEARTS IN THE STORM (CT), THE SEVEN
OF THE BOXERS (SB), NAHIK AHMEDAN THE TRAITOR (NA) , THE TERROR OF THE COLORADO
(TC), ANTERO (AN) (whose first episode were published in the ALMANACCO ESTIVO
1949), METCALFA IL NEGRIERO (MN), THE GREEN OCEAN (OV), THE HEROES OF FREEDOM
(EL) , COLPO GITANO (CG) and LEVRIERI IN CORSA (LC). Among the unpublished
stories were those designed by Raffaele Paparella, Athos Cozzi, Franco Caprioli
and Edgardo Dell'Acqua, among others those of Lina Buffolente, Renato Polese,
Bellavitis and Nevio Zeccara. Only 13 of the published issues are in vertical
format: nos. 5, 7, 15, 29, 31, 33, 66, 69, 72, 75, 76, 77 and 78. The registers
n. 17, 18, 23 and 24 contain a four-page insert for the "Great
Competition" sticker collection.
