The Oasys MiniHollywood Park lounge last Friday hosted the filming of the short film “Ask Before You Shoot” directed by Miguel Montoya. The duration of the short is two minutes. The recording was carried out during the evening of June 21st.

It is necessary to emphasize the disposition of the Park for this type of shootings, as much to the Almeria filmmakers as well as with international productions. There has been a great collaboration of Oasys MiniHollywood Park with this filmmaker.

Highlight that it was the first short of Miguel Montoya after having worked as the first camera unit in the short “Resurrection”, by Artemy Curtó and main camera and editing in the footage of “The March of the Devil”, by José Enrique Martínez. He has also shot several music videos for artists from Almería, such as the FM group, Lidia Plaza and the video section of the work First Steps, by the musician Juanma Linde.

For his first job as director, Miguel has decided on a western. “The light of Almeria and the locations are ideal for shooting, but I think you have to give a twist to the western. There are many shoots and many shorts, so you have to innovate. I cannot say much about the elaboration of the short, but I can point out that there have been two types of shooting using the same scenes. The final result will be two short films with the same script and characters. But one of them will be different from what has been presented so far in festivals and contests. We hope to give that different note to the rest of the works presented. It is nothing new for cinema, but for western Almeria,” says Miguel Montoya.

For the filming he has had two main characters played by Guadalupe Moreno, who premiered as an actress and Enrique Durio, one of the veterans of Western cinema in Almeria. Among the members were Andrés García Camacho, Manuel López García, Miguel Montoya Sr. and Antonio Amate.

Everything was filmed inside the saloon using cameras with 4K definition and the latest technology in FXS was used and gives a plus of quality to the recording. Everything was recorded in an excellent environment among friends.
