William “Bill” Cummings was born in England on October 15, 1920. Bill was a stuntman and actor who performed stunts in 28 films from 1952 until 1988 and acted in 43 films during that same time. Cummings directed one film “Bad Attitude” in 1993.
He is remembered for playing the thug Quist in 1965’s James Bond film “Thunderball”. He was also a stunt double for Ray Brooks and Terry Maidment in 1967-1968 TV series ‘The Avengers’.
Bill appeared in two Euro-westerns: “Carry on Cowboy” in 1965 as a rider and in the British TV series ‘The Prisoner’ Season 1, episode 13 “Living in Harmony” in 1967 as a horseman.
After retiring from films Cummings ran a green grocer’s store in Walton-on-Thames in Surrey, England. He passed on February 6, 2002, in Weybridge, Surrey, England at the age of 81.
