Little Known Spaghetti Western actors ~ Roberto Danesi

[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

Roberto Danesi is/was born in Rome, Italy, the son of horse trainer, stuntman, actor Alfredo Danesi, nephew of actor Artuto Danesi and the brother of stuntman, actor Antonio Danesi. He was often billed as Robert Danish and Robert Dannish. He was the most well known of his family of actors and stuntmen. Yet little is actually known or available about him.

Roberto had quite an extensive career in the Spaghetti western genre playing outlaws, bandits, and henchmen. Another actor and really his entire family that added much to the genre but so little has been documented or written about. Sad to say I can find no biographical information on him.

“Un uomo, un cavallo, una pistola” (The Stranger Returns) as an En Plein henchman in 1967, “Lo straniero di silenzio” as a thief, ($20,000 On Number 7) as a Collins’ henchman both in 1968, “Sabata” as one of the bank robbers in 1969, “...e vennero in quattro per uccidere Sartana!” (They Came to Kill Sartana) as Buffalo in 1969. “Quel maledetto giorno d’inverno… Django e Sartana all’ultimo sangue” (One Damned Day at Dawn... Django Meets Sartana) as Mordera in 1970, “Black Killer” as Ryan O’Hara, “Una pistola per cento croci!” (Gunman of 100 Crosses) as the red-haired henchman) and “Vamos a matar Sartana!” (Let's Go and Kill Sartana) as Deputy Rod, “W Django!” (A Man Called Django) as a Carranza henchman all in 1971, “Bada alla tua pelle Spirito Santo” (Return of the Holy Ghost) as Mike in 1972, “Demasiados muertos para Tex” in 1973.

  1. hello Tom. I would really like you to write more about actors whose birth dates are indicated . Lately you have been writing about Danesi . But i only know Antonio Danesi birth date . Its a pity, but there are few dates for actors from the 1960s and 1970s on the internet. Well , thank you and good luck.

  2. He was very skillful riding horses , it seems to me that he was related to drama , acting and performance. He appeared in Brother Outlaw at the beginning!!!. He could have worked in a circus as an acrobat!!!
