German stuntman and
actor Milam ‘Emil’ Mikuljan died in Switzerland on July 3rd. He was
82. Milan was born in Bremenhaven, Germany on February 20, 1943. He was
involved in all Karl May films produced by 'Rialto Film'. 'He was seldom seen
in a specific role and yet he was always present, whether as Mario Girotti's
double or performing complicated tasks, such as a fire stunt in 'Winnetou and
the Half-Blood Apanatschi'," writes Christian Hees on his website about
the Karl May film adaptations. Mikuljan appeared in twelve Euro-westerns: “The
Treasure of Silver Lake” as Tramp also stunts in 1962, “Apache Gold” as a train
conductor also stunts, “Apache's Last Battle” stunts and “Massacre at Grande
Canyon stunts all in 1963. “Frontier Hellcat” as a Shoshone, rider and
performing stunts, “Last of the Renegades” as a ranch hand, Indian and
performing stunts all in 1964, “Desperado Trail” as a Rollins’ henchman and
doing stunts, “Flaming Frontier” as an O’Neal henchman, Indian doing stunts and
was Mario Girotti double, “The Halfbreed” in 1965 doing stunts, “Rampage at
Apache Wells” all in 1965, “Thunder at the Border” as Metz and doing stunts in
1966 and “The Man With the Long Gun” as a shotgun rider and doing stunts in
1968.
