Italian car racer Guido Lollobrigida poses next to his FIAT 1100 after winning the "Fayen Challenge" race held at the Los Proceres circuit on September 14, 1958. The FIAT started with the prizes, as riders Sauro Balladini and Freddy Brant came in second and third place respectively.
Lollobrigida received the prize from the hands of French-born racer Lino Fayen, who participated in various events held in Caracas, including the Venezuelan Grand Prix in 1956. Fayen would eventually stay and live in Caracas, where he established his famous RENAULT dealership in Bello Monte.
Guido (1927-2013), who was the cousin of the renowned
actress Gina Lollobrigida, also had a prolific career as a film actor in Italy.
