We see Tuco forcing Blonde to cross the desert as punishment for Blondie forcing Tuco to walk back to town after their partnership was dissolved.
The desert crossing was filmed in the sand dunes of
Retamar, Almeria Spain. Mechanical diggers were used to build up the height of
the sand for what Sergio had in mind.
