RIP Ingid Steeger

 


German film, TV and theater actress Ingrid Steeger died in a nursing home in Bad Hersfeld, Hesse, Germany on December 22nd. She was 76. Born Ingrid Anita Stengert in Berlin on April 1, 1947, she began her career as a model and became known as the new shooting star of the soft-sex film industry with the legendary “Schoolgirl Report”. Later, she got roles in crime series such as “Der Kommissar” and “Derrick” and worked with greats such as Curd Jürgens, Harald Juhnke and Horst Tappert. She starred with Iris Berben in the series “Zwei himmlische Töchter”. In the 1990s, she was also seen in the four-part series “Der große Bellheim”. In later life she abandoned television and turned to the stage.

From 1973 to 1975 she was married to the cinematographer Lothar Elias Stickelbruck, after which she had relations with Pfleghar and the big game hunter Peter Koenecke. In 1992, Steeger married the American poet and environmentalist Tom LaBlanc, and they separated a year later.

Steeger appeared in one Euro-western as Rachel Stevens in 1971’s “A Long Ride from Eden”. She also appeared in a 1978 TV episode of ‘Zwei himmlische Töchter’ entitled ‘Ein Cowboy nach Spanien’ as Kikki.
