Little Known Spaghetti Western Actors ~ Franco Beltramme

[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

Franco Beltramme was born in Rome, Italy on May 31, 1929. He was a film actor who appeared in 33 films beginning with an appearance in the role of a Roman soldier in 1962’s “Maciste, il gladiatore più forte del mondo” (Colossus of the Arena). His last credited appearance was in 1991’s “Year of the Gun” where he played a detective. Beltramme was also a stunt performer and performed stunts in 19 films over that same time period. Among his films were appearances in seven Spaghetti westerns with probably his biggest role as the bank manager Carson in 1968’s “Due volte Giuda” (Twice a Judas) starring Richard Harrison and Klaus Kinski.

Franco was married to Chilean diplomat Maria Helena Falcão who died in 1991. Franco died in Santiago, Chile on May 25, 2012, a week after turning 83.
