Giorgio Constantini was born in San Michele al Tagliamento, Veneto, Italy on April 6, 1911. He became a stage actor at a young age but left the theater in the 1930s to try and make a career in the emerging film industry. During World War II he actually appeared in some major commercial films including a role as Baron of Sigognac in Duilio Coletti’s 1940 version of “Capitan Coletti”. He also appeared as a lawyer for Mario Soldati who played an English general in 1942’s “Bengasi” along with an appearance in one of the first filmed versions of “Don Giovanni” in 1942. When the war ended, he was suddenly broke and unemployed. After a four- year hiatus he was back on the screen but in secondary films and in minor parts. Towards the end of this career, he ended up appearing in low-grade adventure films. He even went so far as to writer scripts for three of these films. His film career ended with a final appearance in 1964’s “The Masked Man Against the Pirates” starring George Hilton. Constantini died in Rome on March 1, 1997.
