Mario Pagaon was born in Naples, Italy
in 1927. He became an author, composer and singer and one of the most important
songwriter of Italian music, from the group of young poets for the renewal of
the Neapolitan song in the 60s. He's as a singer at "Cantagiro 1962"
interpreting "'Ncopp' all'Acqua" written by Francesco Saverio
Maresca with whom he formed an extraordinary duo to whom we owe the timeless
hits: Volevo un Gatto Nero, Il Torero Camomillo, Il Pulcino Ballerino (I
Wanted a Black Cat, The Bullfighter Camomillo, The Dhick Dancer), with which
have delighted two Italian generations.
Mario composed the music and song “I Wanna Go” which was
sung by Orso Maria Guerrini in the 1973 TV series “The Jack London Story” which
was later released as a film.
