Ermita de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios is amall
13th-century Romanesque church located five kilometers north of Colomenar Viejo
on the M-625 highway that leads to Guadalix de la Sierra, facing the Dehesa de
Navalvillar, with a wide view in the direction of the Embalse de Santillana,
Manzanares El Real and the Sierra de Guadarrama. It was used in "Land
Raiders" (1969), "The Guns of the Magnificent Seven" (1969); "The
Mercenary" (1970) (interior). As far as films of other genres are
concerned, it appears as a convent in the winter scene of Sophia Loren's
farewell to Charlton Heston in "El Cid" (1961).
