Happy 85th Birthday Sonja Ziemann
Alice Toni Selma Ziemann was born on February 8, 1926 in Eichwalde, Berlin, Germany. At the age of 10 years she started taking ballet lessons. She appeared on stage in 1941 as a dancer and her film career began the following year with small roles. She became well known in the 1950s as Sonja Ziemann with appearances in “Operettenverfilmung Schwarzwaldmädel” and “Heimatfilm Grün ist die Heide”. Her one Euro-western was as Sylvia in “Texas Serenade” (1958). Sonja has been married three times, first to hosiery maker Rudolf Hambach from 1952-1956 and they had a son Pierre who died of cancer at 16 in 1969. From 1962 she was married to writer Marek Hlasko [1934-1969] until he committed suicide in 1969. She became the companion of Martinius Adolff until his death in an airplane crash in 1974. She was then married actor Charles Regnier [1914-2001] from 1972 until his death in 2001. She appeared on several talk shows including Beckmann in 2006. She now lives in a retirement home in Munich.
