Happy 50th Birthday Christopher Atkins
Christopher Atkins Bomann was born on February 21, 1961 in Rye, New York. During high school he worked as a lifeguard and a sailing instructor, where he was discovered and offered the lead in the “Blue Lagoon” (1980) with Brooke Shields. He then made “The Pirate Movie” (1982) with Kristy MacNichol. In 1983 he appeared in “A Night in Heaven” with Lesley Ann Warren. He appeared on numerous magazine covers including September 1982 Playgirl. During the ‘90s he drifted into made for TV movies and direct to video films. During this time he appeared in two made for TV Euro-westerns filmed in South Africa “Guns of Honor” (1993) and “Trigger Fast” (1994) as Captain Dusty Fog. In 2007 he starred in the direct to DVD “100 Million BC” and in 2008 the Euro-western “I Am Somebody”. Chris married Lyn Barron in 1985 and the couple had two children, Grant and actress Brittney Bomann [1987- ], before they divorced. Today we celebrate Christopher Atkins 50th birthday.
