Happy 60th Birthday Patrick Bergin
Patrick Connolly Bergin was born in Dublin, Ireland on February 4, 1951. His father was a senator in the Irish Parliament. Patrick dropped out of high school and worked as a postman and as a laborer before returning to finish school and then entering college working as an assistant librarian before completing his degree in drama and education. Bergin became a teacher of juvenile delinquents and children with learning disabilities. He taught for five years before quitting and taking an extensive tour of Europe. Moving to London Bergin founded a theater group called Mum’s Underground. Bergin first appeared in a few made for TV movies and then made his first screen appearance in 1988's “Taffin” starring Pierce Brosnan. He’s probably best remembered for his role as Julia Roberts’ psychotic, stalking husband in 1991's “Sleeping With the Enemy”. He’s appeared in two Euro-Westerns as General Winfield Scott in 1999's “One Man’s Hero” starring Tom Berenger and 2008's “GallowWalker” as Marshall Gaza starring Wesley Snipes.
