Little Known Spaghetti Western actors ~ Perry Dell

[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

Perry Dell was an alias used by director, assistant director, writer, and actor Gianni Crea.

After his experiences as a volunteer assistant for Roberto Rossellini and assistant for Gianni Puccini, he made some short films (“All'ombra dei vulcani”, “Siracusa”, “La perla del sud”).

He made his feature film debut in 1969 with the western “La legge della violenza” (The Law of Violence), which was followed by a series of other westerns.

In 1984 he directed the film Liberate Emanuela, dedicated to the case of the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi

Like several directors he was not afraid to insert himself in his own films in a small part which he died in his only Spaghetti western appearance that we are aware of and that was as Charlie Sloane in his 1972 directed film “…e il terzo giorno arrivò il Corvo” (On the Third Day Arrived the Crow). Here he used the alias, Perry Dell.

DELL, Perry (Gianni Crea) [1/4/1938, Siderno, Reggio Calabria, Calabria, Italy – 2010, Italy] – director, assistant director, writer, actor.
