Born Ettore Raoul Lovecchio in Foggia, Puglia, Italy on February 12, 1939, he was a member of Alessandro Alessandroni’s “I Cadetti’ and later “I Cantori Moderni’. He was often called on for solo-singing on soundtracks in the late 1960s. After he left the genre then became an actor during the 1970s.

He began his activity in the entertainment world as a keyboardist in 1961, playing the classics of the Neapolitan tradition, calling himself Raoul. He was a film actor during the late 1960s and 1970s. He became known in the field of pop music, thanks to the song ‘Vento e Whiskey’ in 1967, and collaborated with the composer Francesco de Masi. In the following years he recorded songs such as ‘L'uomo che sarà’ and ‘Vieni via’.

In 1967 he was the voice of many of the songs of the western films such as “7 Winchester for a Massacre”; he also sang on the soundtracks of the films “Quanto costa morire” (The Cost of Dying” by Sergio Merolle and “Ammazzali tutti and torna solo” (Kill Them All and Come Back Alive) by Enzo G. Castellari.

In 1970 he joined ‘I Cantori Moderni’ of Alessandro Alessandroni, with whom he recorded several soundtracks, and had the opportunity to collaborate with artists such as Lucio Dalla, Ennio Morricone, Domenico Modugno and Claudio Baglioni.
