RIP Gianfranco Reverberi

 


Italian composer Gianfranco Reverberi died at his home in Genoa, Italy on January 8th he was 89. Born in Genoa on November 11, 1934, he is the brother of fellow composer Gian Piero Reverberi [1939- ], Gianfranco formed one of Italy’s first Rock n’ Roll bands along with Enzo Jannacci, Paolo Tomelleri, Nando De Luca and Adriano Celentano. At the age of 23 he became deputy artistic director of Radio Record Ricordi. He then became artistic director of the CGD record company. In addition to composing songs, Reverberi wrote film scores. A song from one of these, composed for the film 'Django Prepare a Coffin!' (1967), with Terence Hill, in 2006 it was revived by the American Gnarls Barkley for their single 'Crazy'.
