Luis Morris Bermúdez was born on October 2, 1929, in València, Comunidad Valenciana, Spain. He was the son of writer Andrés Morris Cooley [1901-1937] and Soledad Bermúdez [1903-1990]. He studied Law at the University of Valencia, where he first came into contact with the world of acting through the Teatro Español Universitario. He abandoned his studies and moved to Madrid where he got a job, first on the radio (Radio Madrid), and from 1953 on stage with Mario Antolín's company and later in Adolfo Marsillach's.
He made his film debut in 1958 with José María Forqué in the film Un hecho violento. In the following years he developed a prolific career on the big screen, coinciding on five occasions with the then teen star Rocío Dúrcal. He also combined his film appearances with an outstanding career in both theatre and television. earned him enormous popularity at the time, which experienced its heyday with the hugely successful series at the time ‘La tía de Ambrosio’ (1971), in which he starred alongside Rafaela Aparicio.
Bermudez, who suffered from lung cancer, died of a cardiac arrest in Madrid, on September 16, 1974, a few days before his 45th birthday.
Luis appeared in two Spaghetti westerns: “Per un pugno nell'occhio” (A Fistful of Knuckles) in 1965 as a gun dealer and as a firing squad victim in “Giu la testa” (Duck You Sucker) in 1971.
