These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]
Francisco Bernal Jiménez was born in Jumilla, Murcia, Spain on July 22, 1900. After a long journey that led him to perform from an early age on stages throughout Spain and beyond, and a long tour of Mexico and Cuba, finally made his debut in the cinema at the age of 41.
Soon, his lean presence and his elongated and weathered face would become established in a large part of Spanish film production, obtaining countless small roles in many films, in which he gave life, with simplicity and resolution in the role of chauffeurs, servants, butlers, tavern patrons or bailiffs. Reaching a peak in 1957 and 1958, with the incredible record of having acted in a dozen films in each year.
Francisco died in Madrid, Spain on June 22, 1962, a month shy of turning 62.
Bernal appeared in two Euro-westerns; “Tres eran tres” (Three Were Three) in 1954 and “Juanito” in 1959 where he was billed as Francis Bernal de Quiros.
