Franco Nero wins the 'SorrentoFFF 2024 Legend Award' - Cinema. Franco Nero will receive the award from the mayor of Sorrento Massimo Coppola on Friday 5 January at the Armida Theatre. The directors Dennis Dellai, Valerio Esposito, Francesco Apolloni will also be awarded; the actors Livia Pillmann, Edoardo Costa, Liliana Esposino and Aurelio Amato. The musicians Ciccio Merolla, Davide De Gregorio and Marco Zurzolo and the Chefs Maicol Izzo (Piazzetta Milu' in Castellammare - 2 Michelin Stars) and Peppe Guida (Vico Equense - 1 Michelin Star).

Franco Nero was awarded the "SorrentoFFF 2024 Legend Award", a special prize as part of the 2nd edition of the 'Sorrento Film & Food Festival', promoted by The Artists' Club Italia (president Antonella Cocco), under the patronage of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Italian Chamber of Commerce. (ANSA).

Franco Nero was awarded the "SorrentoFFF 2024 Legend Award" special prize as part of the 2nd edition of the 'Sorrento Film & Food Festival', promoted by The Artists' Club Italia (president Antonella Cocco), with the patronage of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, the Metropolitan City of Naples, the Municipality of Sorrento, with the support of the Ministry of Culture (DG Cinema) and the Campania Region.

Franco Nero will receive the award from the mayor of Sorrento Massimo Coppola on Friday 5 January at the Armida Theatre during the final Gala of the event in which the directors Dennis Dellai, Valerio Esposito, Francesco Apolloni will also be awarded; the actors Livia Pillmann, Edoardo Costa, Liliana Esposito and Aurelio Amato, the musicians Ciccio Merolla, Davide De Gregorio and Marco Zurzolo and the Chefs Maicol Izzo (Piazzetta Milu' in Castellammare - 2 Michelin Stars) and Peppe Guida (Vico Equense - 1 Michelin Star).

Originally from Puglia, Emilian by adoption, Franco Nero is probably the best-known contemporary Italian actor in the world. Fresh from a season of engagements between several international films (including 'The Jester from Transylvania' and the recent 'Happy Days'), Nero has recently made a directorial work in Italy starring the controversial Oscar winner Kevin Spacey, "The Pope's Exorcist".

Husband of Vanessa Redgrave (met on the set of "Camelot" by Joshua Logan), father of filmmaker Carlo Gabriel, humanitarian worker, the famous actor and director is in Hollywood history for being launched by John Huston in the blockbuster "The Bible" and for many successful interpretations starting with "Django", directed by Sergio Corbucci, which inspired the Oscar-winning director Quentin Tarantino for the acclaimed remake with Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz.
