Work is being done on the existing decorations with new
constructions in order to give the image of Mexico in the nineteenth century.
The El Chorrillo area in Sierra Alhamilla, well known for the filming of “Exodus” and the series ‘Game of Thrones’, is back in the news. For a few days now, new sets are being made on top of those that were already available for filming in the next few days of a series of ‘El Zorro’.
Although few details of this recording are known, the truth is that they have been filming in Toledo for several weeks and the next location is located in the Paraje El Chorrillo. In December, a casting call was called that was looking for very specific profiles for this series.
This new project in the 'Zorro' series will have a Franco-Spanish production and will be shot entirely between the locations of Toledo and Almeria. A project that is expected to premiere at the end of 2024 or in 2025. In principle, this series would be broadcast on one of the French television channels, although it is not ruled out that it could be marketed to other television channels in the world, as well as on streaming platforms.
At the moment the cast of the series has not been
revealed or what the technical team will be, although they are working
tirelessly to get the new sets ready in a few days. The sets are reminiscent of
a nineteenth-century Mexican town.
Remember that it was the actor Antonio Banderas, one of the best interpreters in the history of El Zorro cinema, emulating the adventures of Don Diego de la Vega. A series about Zorro has also recently been filmed in the Canary Islands with Miguel Bernardeau. However, this series, even though it is about Zorro, will have a different approach.
At the moment, the casting was done in Almeria, the
selection of the figuration that will participate in the series was made and
everything is almost ready to record in an environment that has become one of
the great locations of the production companies that come to this land to shoot
films or series.
