Bernard Paul Barnsley was born in Eastbourne, East Sussex, England on November 30, 1932. He appeared in over 35 films and television series between 1961 and 2004 as both an actor and a stuntman. He began his career as a stuntman in the 1960s, performing stunts in films such as “The Guns of Navarone” (1961) and “The Great Escape” (1963). He went on to perform stunts in a number of James Bond films, including “You Only Live Twice” (1967), “Diamonds Are Forever” (1971), and “The Spy Who Loved Me” (1977). In addition to his stunt work, Barnsley has also appeared in a number of films as an actor. He had a small role in “Superman” (1978) as a police officer, and appeared in “The Empire Strikes Back” (1980) as a rebel soldier. He also had a small role in the film “The Return of the Jedi” (1983). Barnsley has been married twice and has two children.
Bernard Barnsley passed away in Pool-in-Wharfedale, South West, England, on April 19, 2020.
His only Euro-western appearance was as a rider in 1965’s “Carry on Cowboy”.
