Manuel de Blas Munoz was born in Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain on April 12, 1941. He spent his childhood in Córdoba and subsequently moved to Madrid to study political science. While attending college he enrolled in an acting school, making his debut in films in 1961 with a minor role in the film “Cuartelazo” directed by Héctor Sevillano
In 1967 on the set of “Cita en Navarra” a film directed by José Grañena he met American film actress Patty Shepard [1945-2013], whom he married in the same year. They went on to act in several films together and remained married for 46 years, until the death of the actress in January 2013. The couple had one child production assistant David DeBlas [1969- ].
During his career, he has starred in many films and appeared in over 230 films and TV appearances. In 2022 he obtained a role in the movie “Uncharted” playing the role of Armando Moncada.
He is brother-in-law of American spaghetti western and soap opera actress Judith Chapman [1951- ], who was in "Up the MacGregors" credited under her birth name of Judith Shepard.

I somehow see Manuel De Blas pop up in almost every Spaghetti Western imaginable. And it's funny how his character in "Whiskey And Ghosts" was named Davy Carradine. Can you imagine that? A Western with the name "David Carradine" in it but Carradine HIMSELF is not in it! That wasn't the only time the name "Carradine" was used in a Spaghetti Western. The name also pops up in "Johnny Yuma" with Mark Damon.
