Who Are Those Singers & Musicians ~ Renato Cortiglioni

 


Renata Cortiglioni was born in Serrungarina, Marche Italy in 1909. She studied at the "Gioachino Rossini" Conservatory in Pesaro, where she graduated in piano with Mario Vitali and Amilcare Zanella . Then she studied Choral singing and choir conducting at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, with Armando Antonelli and Bonaventura Somma.

In 1949 she took over the direction of the children's choir of the Italian Radiotelevision, which she held for over thirty years, until the state television decided to dissolve it in 1983. 

Since 1956 she supervised the choral exercises of the middle school of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory.

Her choirs collaborated with important musical institutions, such as the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, the Umbrian music festival, and with various conductors, singers and composers such as: Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, Bernardino Molinari, Riccardo Muti, Sergio Endrigo, Johnny Dorelli, Renato Rascel, Rita Pavone, Paolo Bacilieri, recording for various labels, such as RCA, CAM, Decca, CBS.

She died in Rome on July 13, 1987.
