Who Are Those Guys? ~ Bob Cunningham

Robert King Cunningham was born in Atchison, Kansas on April 17, 1910. Little information can be found about him. His family moved to Atlanta, Georgia and then to Detroit, Michigan. According to a newspaper report he was an actor in the Army Motion Picture service during a four-year stint. After his honorable discharge he started his acting career on stage and then in films. He was active in films from 1948 until 1986. He appeared in over 50 films and was sometimes billed as Robert Cunningham. He appeared in films made in 24 countries so his actual number of film appearances is much more than the IMDb credits show.

Cunningham’s Spaghetti western appearances were limited to only two: “Shalako” (1968) as Luther and as Joe Bradford in 1971’s “In the Dust of the Sun”.

He was married to Mary Cummings from 1945-1969 and was the father of five children.

Bob died in New York City on November 8, 2002.
