Who Are Those Composers? ~ Alessandro Derevitsky

Alexandre Derevitzky was born in Naples, Italy on September 18th, 1909 in Napoli, Italy. He started composing music for films in the late 1930s, but also wrote a number of Italian pop songs (sometimes with lyricist Luciano Luigi Martelli), as well as classical works and light music. Using the alias Alessandro Derevitsky he was best known as the composer for films such as Marcello Albani's “Il azar delle idee” (1940), Amleto Palermi's comedy “San Giovanni decollato” (1940), Nicola Manzari's “Quarta pagina” (1942), Aldo Fabrizi’s “Emigrantes” (1948) and Steno's “Totò nella luna” (1958). Derevitsky wrote film scores for 26 films but his only Euro-western was “Deguello” in 1965. Alexandre died in Rome on October 5, 1974.
