German actor Siegfried Rauch died on March 11, 2018 in Untersöchering,
Bavaria, Germany the results of a fall down the stairs in his home. He was 85.
Rauch could have become an international film star but did not want to leave
his farm and quiet life in Bavaria. He appeared in such international
productions as “Le Mans” (1971) where he became good friends with Steve
McQueen, “Patton” (1970) and “The Eagle
Has Landed” (1976). He became a stable actor in German films and appeared for
years on the German TV series ‘Traumschiff’ and ‘Der Bergdoktor’. Rauch
appeared in three Euro-westerns: ‘Geronimo und die Räuber (TV) (1966) as
Geronimo, ‘My Friend Winnetou’ (TV) (1980) as Old Shatterhand and as Parker in
the 1996 film
“The Sons of Trinity”
