Very little information exists on this failed TV series. It is either a crime film series or a series of films involving different genres including the western.

1st in a series of 24 telefilms made for Italian RAI television which was apparently never transmitted.

  1. Hey Tom,

This was a two-episode made-for-tv pilot that Vani, Polselli, and Mitchell were wanting to pitch for television sales. Alas they failed!

Its correct title is INTRIGO (despite arguments between some that it is WESTERN 84. This is evidenced by INTRIGO being in larger font, the press-sheet for it emblazoned with INTRIGO in large letters, and the master tape for a feature-length version they then planned to release (the two episodes edited together) being labelled 'L'INTRIGO'.

I think it's safe to lay that argument to rest! 😄

Unfortunately, I know you like your westerns, but this was just a tv-grade poliziottescho/detective agency buddys-in-arms type of affair.

    1. There were only ever two episodes produced - a two-part pilot - with each episode lasting around 36 minutes.

Gordon Mitchell and Dino Strano teaming up deserved a better project than Vani could offer unfortunately!
