María Luz Galicia is a Spanish actress known for her contributions to Spanish cinema and international co-productions during the 1950s and early 1960s. Born María Luz Galicia Gonzalo in Madrid on February 2, 1940. She built a career appearing in supporting and secondary roles across more than a dozen feature films, often in dramatic and comedic productions of the Franco-era Spanish film industry.
Her filmography includes titles such as “Cabaret” (1953), “Señora ama” (1955) alongside Dolores del Río, “El malvado Carabel” (1956) with Fernando Fernán Gómez, “Las de Caín” (1959) with Lola Flores, and the Italian-Spanish co-production “Una mujer para Marcelo” (1958), which introduced her to audiences beyond Spain through its cast featuring Vittorio De Sica and Walter Chiari. Her work reflects the vibrant yet constrained landscape of mid-20th-century Spanish filmmaking, where she contributed to both domestic classics and cross-border projects. Active primarily between 1952 and 1963, she remains a figure from a transitional period in Spanish entertainment history.
