Swedish theater, film and television actor Pierre
Lindstedt has died in Herräng, Häverö, Sweden at the age of 83. Born Pierre
Ernst Vilhelm Lindstedt the son of writer, actor, singer Carl-Gustaf Lindstedt
he played, among other roles, the farmhand Arvid in Jan Troell’s emigrant films
“The Emigrants” and “The New Land”. For an entire generation, he became
synonymous with the ghost Staffan in the 1996 TV Christmas calendar “Mysteriet
på Greveholm”. The success was followed by a sequel at Christmas 2012. In the
1989 Christmas calendar “Ture Sventon privatdetektiv”, he played Oxen, an
underling of Ville Vessla. Pierre was married to actress Karin Grandin he was
the father of three children.
