FOOLSHEAD AMONG THE INDIANS
1910, Italy
Aka… Cretinetti fra gli Indiani / ‘Cretinetti Among the Indians’ / ‘Foolshead Among the Indians’ (It)
Ex… ‘Boireau Parmi les Indiens’ / ‘Gribouille Parmi les Indiens’ ([?], Fr)
Pc: Itala Film (Rom)
Dist: Itala Film (It)
D: André Deed [Henri André Augustin Chapais]
C: André Deed [Henri André Augustin Chapais] (Cretinetti)
Syn: America [?]
Comm: Western elements. Most likely. ‘Cretinetti’ translates as ‘Foolish’ and his American persona ‘Foolshead’ is more appropriate to be used here as a header. Deed was known as both ‘Gribouille’ and ‘Boireau’ in France, but no mention of FOOLSHEAD AMONG THE INDIANS being exhibited there has turned up.
As the word
‘Apache’ isn’t used in the title it is doubtful that FOOLSHEAD AMONG THE
INDIANS deals with ‘Apache Dancing’. Other sources are bolder and list the plot
as ‘featuring his slapstick antics in a comedic portrayal of encounters with
Native Americans’.
Next up FOOLSHEAD’S LAST ROUNDUP.
