Who Are Those Singers & Musicians ~ Johnny Müller

Johnny Müller was born in Plauen, Saxony, Germany on June 15, 1914. Müller played the harmonica in the orchestra of the NDR. In 1962, the NDR orchestra played the title music (Old Shatterhand melody) for the film Der Schatz im Silbersee. Müller had a few solo entries in the melodies. The melody was recorded in November 1962 and was released as a single by Polydor (52 399) in mono. Composer Martin Böttcher gave Müller appearances in other melodies. Müller is often mistakenly confused with René Giessen, who also played the Winnetou music.

Johnny Müller died on May 6, 1990 in Hamburg, Germany and was buried in the Ohlsdorf cemetery in the anonymous urn grove near chapel 8.
