German theater, film and TV actor Fritz von Friedl did in Vienna, Austria on October 9, 2024, after a long illness. He was 83. Friedl, the son of cameraman Frits Friedl [1901-1971] and the brother of actress Loni von Friedl [1943- ] was 83. He studied acting at the Max Reinhart Seminar in Vienna. He gained his first experience as an actor as a teenager and appeared in several German and Austrian theaters. He also appeared in several films but mostly television productions from 1949-2018. Among his appearances were two Euro-western related productions ‘Maximillian von Mexico’ (TV) in 1974 as Dr. Basch and the documentary film “Karl May” in 1974 as Larrass.
