European Western Comic Books – Best Seller

 








Best Seller (Lone Wolf - Cristall - Qui Commissario Norton - Sorrow)

This comic book series were reprints in monographic books with some of the characters who have already appeared in the magazines of the Universo Publishing House. A total of 20 issues were released and divided into four parallel series characterized not only by a different title but also by a different color of the background of the covers.

Lone Wolf  The king of solitude #1/5 (October 7, 1988/February 1989). Texts were by Luigi Grecchi, with drawings by Fernando Fusco. The solitary hero and wanderer devoted to justice has already appeared in L’Intrepido starting with issue #19 (May 1968).

Cristall series #1/5 (October 14, 1988/February 14, 1989). Texts were by Angelo Saccarello and Raffaele D'Argenzio, with drawings by Angelo Mancuso. The brilliant detective bewitched by beautiful women and gambling appeared in Il monello and Albi dell'intrepido (4) (1982).

Commissioner Norton #1/5 (October 21, 1988/February 21, 1989). Texts were by Angelo Saccarello (S. H. Reel) and Antonio Toldo. Norton, head of a special squad of the San Francisco police that hunts down the city's underworld, has already appeared on Il Monello starting in 1974.

Sorrow series #1/5 (October 28, 1988/February 28, 1989). Texts and drawings were by Claudio and Graziano Cicogna. The former policeman who chose the profession of private detective in the very dangerous neighborhood of the Bronx has already appeared in Albi Dell’Intrepido 4 (1977).

The series was published in 1988 with issue #1 being released in October and endinf with issue #5 in February 1989. It was published in Milan, Italy by Casa Editrice Universo (CEU). Each issue contained 80 black and white pages with color covers.
