Audace - Bold Gold Series

This comic book series tells the adventures of the French nobleman Carlo Lebeau, who, unjustly accused of murder, is deported to Canada by ship.

Having managed to escape, he takes on the identity of Dark Eye, a courageous and, at the same time, human character, who combines his strange nom de guerre with an imaginative costume. The stories are set in the Great Lakes area, in the midst of the Franco-English War.

Texts were by Gian Luigi Bonelli, Franco Baglioni, Marcello Serra and Aurelio Galleppini, author, together with Rino Albertarelli and Raffaele Paparella, also the drawings.

The stories "The Slaves of the Mezzaluna" by Baglioni and Galep appear in the appendix, at no. 10 “The Mockery of San Domingo” by Galleppini, at #11/12 “The Thief of Bagdad” by G. L. Bonelli and Raffaele Paparella, which ends in the following Golden Spider Series. In the fourth copy of the twelve issues, “Il libro della jungla” by Serra and Galleppini is published.

The series was published in 1948 with issue #1, was released on January 10, 1948, and ended with #12 on May 15, 1949. It was published by SBE in Milan, Italy under the direction of Tea Bonelli and each issue contained 8 black and white pages with color covers.
