RIP Michel Aumont


A great name in French comedy, Michel Aumont, died during the night of August 28, 2019. He was 82. He was seen many times in supporting roles of French cinema, Michel Aumont was above all a great man of the theater and an honorary member of the Comédie-Française, having obtained four Molières.

Born in Paris, France on October 15, 1936, the actor, who for 20 years played the role of Harpagon in "Molière's house", also played in films by Bertrand Tavernier (Spoiled children, 1977) and Claude Lelouch (Edith and Marcel , 1983) or more recently in Palais Royal (2005) by Valérie Lemercier. Michel Aumont had notably been named to the César for Bertrand Tavernier's A Sunday in the Country (1984) and Yves Robert's Courage fuyons (1979). He appeared in one Euro-western the 1967 television production of ‘Huckleberry Finn’ in an uncredited role
