The province is not only cinema land and has many stories
to tell
Almeria is
different
July 2, 2019
The province of Almeria can boast of having several of
the most incredible landscapes in the world. From the barren desert of Tabernas,
the volcanic beaches of the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata, the Calar Alto
Observatory, from where the universe is explored, or the Minihollywood. We know
Almería's contribution to the history of cinema and also that many celebrities
have chosen it as their place to reside or spend their vacation time. All these
places have been recorded countless times by television networks or film
producers in order to publicize the wonders of the region through
documentaries.

I want to have a
hardware store in Andalusia
We finish, how could it be otherwise, with music. In this
case, the soundtrack is put by the leader of the British group "The
Clash" Joe Strummer, who lived long periods in Andalusia.
Joe Strummer discovered Almeria thanks to the filming of
'Straight to hell', a cult western by Alex Cox , who brought together in
Almería figures such as The Pogues, Kurtney Love, Grace Jones or Dennis Hopper
. Here he found the tranquility he needed after having left behind the walk in
front of The Clash, and his stay has left its mark on Almeria and Granada,
where he is still remembered as a great person, in addition to the immense myth
of rock that was. All this history, is collected in 'I want to have a hardware
store in Andalusia'.
