My friend author, producer, director Mike Malloy of “Euro
Crime” fame recently put together a short documentary on European film actor
Marc Mazza called “Who Was 'the Rider on the Rain?': A Bit Player in Bond and
Beyond”. Mazza was born Marco Mazzacuarti in Paris, France on April 18, 1938.
Never reaching stardom he became instead a cult favorite. With his
unforgettable looks, bald head and piercing eyes, he was easily recognizable
and very memorable in his 20+ film appearances. He’s best remembered by Euro-western
fans for playing Don John who Terence Hill slaps around in “My Name is Nobody”
and as Marshal Eli Saxon in “The Grand Duel” both in 1972. Thanks again to Mike
for allowing us to post his short film and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. Hopefully
he’ll put some more together on these often over looked actors.
