High Chaparral founder, Bengt Erlandsson died March 21st.
He was 93. Big Bengt which he was
affectionately called was born on October 10, 1922 in Kulltorps församling ,
Sweden. He built on a plot of land next to Brännehylte, the town that evolved
into the theme park High Chaparral. Erlandsson handed over operations of the
amusement park to his children during the 1980's. Bengt appeared in and produced the 1977
Euro-western “The Frozen Star”.
