Remembering Enrico Maria Salerno

Enrico Maria Salerno was born on September 18, 1926 in Milan, Italy and is remembered for his work in Italian theater and film as an actor, director and voice dubber. He was the Italian voice of Clint Eastwood in the Sergio Leone ‘Dollar’ series and the voice of Christ in "The Gospel According ro St. Matthew" by Pier Paolo Pasolini. In 1960 Enrico founded the stage company Nuova Compagnia degli Associati. He appeared in four Euro-westerns: "Death Walks in Laredo" (1966), "Bandidos" (1967), "Death Sentence" and "A Train for Durango" (both 1968). In 1970 he made his film debut as a director with "Anonimo Veneziano" which won the Italian Academy Award. Salerno passed away on February 28, 1994 in Rome, Italy. Today we remember Enrico Maria Salerno on what would have been his 85th birthday.

  1. I heard that Enrico Maria Salerno was both an atheist and a homophobe. Whether or not I believe that is up for debate but I will say this. He is NOT one of my favorite actors. In fact, I ain't ever heard of this guy. He may be a great actor but his personal life is controversial if not questionable. I just hope I got my facts right.
