RIP Aaron Schroeder

Aaron Harold Schroeder was born was born on September 7, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City. He became a writer for ASCAP and his first success was At a Sidewalk Penny Arcade singer Rosemary Clooney in 1948. He went on to writer over 1,500 songs. Some of his most well known songs were written for Elvis Presley such as "It’s Now or Never", "Good Luck Charm" and "Stuck on You" along with fifteen others. Schroeder would go on to be the founder of Musicor Records [1960-1965]. He discovered and directed the career of singer Gene Pitney. Schroeder’s involvement with the Euro-western genre was as composer for Terence Hill’s "Lucky Luke" (1990) film and TV series. Schroeder died from the effects of Alzheimer’s on December 2, 2009 in Englewood, New Jersey at the age of 83. Today we celebrate what would have been Aaron Schroeder’s 85th birthday.
