Remembering Sandro Continenza
Alessandro 'Sandro' Continenza was born on July 13, 1920 in Rome, Italy. During his career which lasted from 1949 until 1982, he wrote or co-wrote screenplays for over 140 films. He was also wrote articles for magazines and weekly newspapers. Some of the directors he worked for were Alessandro Blasetti, Mario Monicelli, Franco Giraldi, Alberto De Martino and Giorgio Ferroni. He collaborated with such other writers as Age and Scarpelli and Raimondo Vianello. He was involved with writing screenplays for nine Euro-westerns including “Heroes of the West” (1963), “$5,000 on One Ace” (1964), “Django Shoots First”, “Fort Yuma Gold” and “Sugar Colt” all 1966, “They Still Call Him Amen” (1972) and “White Fang to the Rescue” (1974). Continenza died on November 21, 1996 in Rome, Italy. Today we remember Sandro Continenza on what would have been his 90th birthday.
