Happy 70th Birthday Wilfred Pucher
Wilfred Pucher was born on a farm in Thüringer Germany on July 10 1940. He was brought up to be a farmer before he took to studying acting at the National School in Berlin from 1962-1964. He then took to the stage in the city of Gera. Here he became acquainted with Gisela Dramaturgin whom he marries in 1966. Wilfred joins the acting troup at Hans Petrol Theater in Potsdam until 1971. He then became a fixture on GDR television for the next 20 years among the shows he appears on is “Police Call 110” and as the captain in the TV series “To Sea” in 1976. In the 1970s and 80s he becomes active in DEFA films and appears in two Euro-westerns “Osceola” (1971) and “Tecumseh” (1972). In the 1990s he returns to the national theater in Detmold, Luebeck, Hanover and Graz. He continues to hold the farm holdings of his family and works as a lecturer in Zwickau. In 2010 he celebrates 50 years on the stage. Today we celebrate Wilfred Pucher's 70th birthday.
