Raniero Dorascenzi was an Italian actor known for his prolific career appearing in numerous films and television productions, predominantly in small, uncredited or minor supporting roles across Italian genre cinema.
Born on April 19, 1924, in Paliano, Italy, Dorascenzi frequently portrayed background characters such as policemen, journalists, spectators, officials, and other incidental figures in poliziotteschi, horror, crime, and exploitation films, particularly during the 1970s and 1980s. He appeared in cult favorites including “Danger: Diabolik” (1968), “Demons” (1985), “2019: After the Fall of New York” (1983), and “The Witches” (1967), as well as numerous other productions where he often went uncredited.
Dorascenzi died on December 3, 2017, in Rocca di Papa, Italy at the age of 93.
Raniero Doracenzi appeared in ten Spaghetti westerns: “La resa dei conti” (The Big Gundown) as a wedding guest, “Per pochi dollari ancora” (Fort Yuma Gold) as a bartender and “Un fiume di dollari” (The Hills Run Red) as a saloon patron all in 1966, “I giorni dell’ira” (Day of Anger) as a saloon patron, and “Un minute per pregare, un instante per morire” (A Minute to Pray, a Second to Die) as a saloon patron all in 1967, “È tornato Sabata... hai chiuso un'altra volta” (Return of Sabata) as a circus attendant in 1971, “Uomo avvisato mezzo ammazzato…parola di Spirito Santo” (Blazing Guns) as Major Alvarrado, “Il West ti va stretto, amico... è arrivato Alleluja” (The Return of Hallelujah) as an Austrian soldier and “Tutti fratelli nel west… per parte di padre” (Where the Bullets Fly) as a saloon patron both in 1972 and “Il mio nome è Shangai Joe” (Shanghai Joe) as a Ferguson ranch hand in 1973.
