Spaghetti Western Director ~ André Heinrich

André Heinrich was born on August 5, 1923, in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France. He was an assistant director on seven films between 1949 and 1977 and director on two films in 1951 and 1957. He’s best known for “The Tin Drum” (1979), “White Paws” (1949) and “Terreur en Oklahoma” (1951). He died on September 14, 2014, in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France. He was 91.

André Heinrich produced for France-Culture a program dedicated to Robert Dhéry and Colette Brosset (3-hour, broadcast June 10, 1989).

As mentioned above André Heinrich co-directed one Euro-western, “Terreur en Oklahoma” with Paul Paviot in 1951.

Spaghetti Western Screenwriter ~ José María Cunillés

José María Cunillés is a Spanish producer, production manager, writer, composer and actor. He was born in Tarrega, Spain on September 11, 1943. He is a living story of Spanish cinema. Because in his own right, he’s one of the most important producers in Spain, over five decades Cunillés developed a career in which the evolution experienced by cinematography can be traced in all this time, from its beginnings in the emerging Catalan cinema of the late sixties to some of the greatest successes of the eighties, passing through the era of co-productions of western cinema. The result of this is an eclectic filmography in which films of the popularity and prestige of the diptych on “El Lute” directed by Vicente Aranda or “The Wreck” (1978), a film that participated in the Cannes Film Festival, coexist with titles as disparate as “Topical Spanish” (1970), “Ah sì? I told Zzzzorro!” (1975), “Mauricio, mon amour” (1976) and “Cannibalistic Apocalypse” (aka Virus) (1980).

José María Cunillés co-wrote screenplays for two Spaghetti westerns: “L’Apache Bianco” (White Apache) with Franco Prosperi and “Scalps!” with Roberto Di Girolamo and Bruno Mattei in 1986.

Nicolai Margineanu was born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania on September 25, 1938. He is a producer, director, assistant director, writer, cameraman and cinematographer. He is a graduate of the Cameraman Section, of the Theatre and Film Institute in Bucharest.

Nicolai Margineanu was a cinematographer on one Euro-western, “Profetul, aurul şi ardelenii” (The Prophet, the Gold and the Transylvanians) in 1977
